Life Actually
“Life Actually is dedicated to my grandsons Mikael Alexandre Langevin in Montreal, Quebec, Luca Jamal Schaeffer and Milan Karim Schaeffer in the Hague, The Netherlands.”
This book is a dramatic story of the adventurous and exciting life we have lived in various countries, the trials and tribulations of moving and never being able to call a country ‘home’, and the exotic and different cultures we experience in our never ending journey. The diverse environment has broadened my worldview and today I can proudly say that I am a versatile human being!

I was born in Kenya but my heart has always been in Tanzania where I spent many years of my life, on and off, returning from Europe. My work with the Embassy of Tanzania in Paris, France, brought me close to someone, a diplomat’s daughter, who later moved to Ottawa with her father who was assigned High Commissioner to Tanzania. My heartfelt thanks to Liliane Sykes-Kwofie for taking the leap to open a school for children in Shinyanga, which I support.
